General Food and Beverage Policies and Procedures
Mosteller Mansion prohibits food, beverage and/or alcohol from being brought onto the property or buildings from outside sources other than preferred vendors, with the exception of Specialty Cakes. Mosteller Mansionreserves the right to retain control of all services rendered in conjunction with your event.
Mosteller Mansion reserves the right to be in control of the placement of any decorations, equipment, packages, or materials. All amenities and props needed to support an event must be authorized by and coordinated through the Director of Special Events.
Confirmed attendance is required no less than 30 days prior to an event. Full payment for services is required no less than 30 days prior to an event.
All deposits are nonrefundable.
Any damage to property or loss of revenue caused by the group will be the responsibility of the group. Minimum charges and changes for special services will be applied to any function or event. All Banquet and Meeting space facilities are non-smoking.
In keeping with the City of Hickory noise ordinance and taking into consideration the community’s residences surrounding the Mansion, quiet time begins at 10:00 p.m. At this time, music is asked to be turned down to a respectable volume and any doors leading outside of the property must be closed. Outdoor music must cease at this time or move inside.
Mosteller Mansion will make every effort to satisfy your requests. However, Mosteller Mansion reserves the right to change event space depending upon your final guaranteed attendance and weather conditions relating to events that utilize outdoor areas. In the event of inclement weather (for example, if road conditions become hazardous due to significant snow or ice accummulation), a call must be made no less than 60 hours prior to event start time. When weather conditions forecast at least a 40% chance of precipitation during scheduled event time, Mosteller Mansion reserves the right to move your event indoors.
Mosteller Mansion reserves the right to require additional security during some functions and events and reserves the right to select and appoint such security as deemed necessary by Mosteller Mansion.
Minimum Guarantee: An approximate number of guests is required at the booking of the event. A guaranteed number of guests and final arrangements must be made 72 hours prior to the event. You will be charged for the guaranteed number of guests, plus any extra guests that may show up.
Additional Rentals: Tents, AV equipment, security officers, barbecues, etc. can be provided at rental cost plus 20%. Cake cutting and service at $1.50 per person. Table linens or $6 per table of 10 people.
Bartenders: The fee is $20 per hour, per bartender with a minimum of 4 hours plus 1 hour to set up and break down. No outside personnel or participant is authorized to dispose of, sell, or consume alcohol that is not provided and tended to by an employee of TOTT. To assure compliance with the NC State liquor commission TOTT reserves the right to abide by NC State liquor laws.
Bar and Liquor:
Alcoholic beverages can be served during any function with prior coordination. The client accepts the liability for such alcohol use and agrees to the responsibility of monitoring and/or restricting use as well as providing alternate transportation for those considered unsafe or determined to be under the influence.
A limited special occasion permit authorizes the permitee to bring fortified wine and spirituous liquor onto the premises of a business, with the permission of the owner of that property, and to serve those alcoholic beverages to the permit tee’s guests at a reception, wedding, party or other special occasion being held there. The permit may be issued to any individual other than the owner or possessor of the premises. An applicant for a limited special occasion permit shall have the written permission of the Mosteller MansionCaterers which the special occasion is to be held at the Mosteller Mansion. Complete an Application for Limited Special Occasion Permit and submit with the $50 fee. APPLICATION FOR LIMITED SPECIAL OCCASION PERMIT can be located at North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission website.
Decorating Rice/Confetti Usage:
Tape, nails, pushpins or potentially damaging fasteners may not be used to hang signs or other materials on walls. Noise volume will be controlled by management in order to insure quality functions in all of our groups. We ask that you plan to use birdseed confetti during a wedding reception for distribution outside only.
All prices are per person unless stated otherwise and subject to NC sales tax and 20% service charge (State law requires taxing of the service charge).
Prices and availability are subject to change. Add $50.00 service charge to buffet charge if number drops below the 20 person minimum, not to drop
Below 15 people. There is a 2 hour maximum time limit for all buffets. Per person charge based on the final head count.
Food Pricing Increases
For Events booked 6 months to 1 year in advance we reserve the right to inform the
Customer of significant food prices increases. We will discuss any necessary changes
90 days prior to the event.
$1000.00 Deposit is due for booking an event. All Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE !
